Reenactment at Blakeley Park Alabama
On April 4th and 5th Blakeley State Park in Alabama is going to see a Civil War reenactment of the last battle of the war fought at Blakeley on April 9th, 1865. The original conflict actually happened a few hours after had Gen. Robert E. Lee already surrendered Virginia Army at the Appomattox Courthouse. Visitors are invited to view the educational and thrilling reenactment of this authentic Civil War battle, complete with infantrymen and their replica civil war weapons as well as seeing and hearing heavy artillery and mortar fire. Confederate and Union camps can also be viewed the way they were in that historic time including horses, tents, cooking and other camp equipment.
Blakeley State Park is approximately four and a half miles north of Spanish Fort on Alabama Highway 225.
